Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These terms govern your purchase and use of Learning Basic Keyboarding, a self-paced 9-week keyboarding elective for students in grades 6-8, delivered through this website.
1. Who you are contracting with
The seller of this course is Lionel E Bryant (trading as "Idea2Launch"), a Virginia licensed teacher operating as an individual seller. When you purchase a student code or a family plan, your contract for the course is with Lionel E Bryant, trading as Idea2Launch.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, enrolling a student, or using the course, you agree to these terms. If you are purchasing for a minor, you confirm you are the student's parent or legal guardian and have the authority to enroll them. If you are enrolling on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
3. What the course includes
A purchased student code covers the full course for one student: the pretest, four self-paced modules with warm-ups, 12 timed drills, 4 one-minute speed tests, the posttest, progress records, and a completion certificate. The family plan covers up to 2 student codes plus the parent dashboard. Each student code works on one device at a time; a parent account may be used on any number of devices.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the course or the website. That includes, at minimum:
- using the service for any unlawful purpose;
- fraud, spam, or attempting to obtain access without payment;
- infringing the intellectual property rights of the seller or anyone else;
- interfering with the security of the service — introducing malware, probing or scanning for vulnerabilities, or scraping content.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information (including a student's legal birth name, birth date, and grade) and keep it up to date.
5. Intellectual property
The course content — lessons, drills, assessments, passages, the virtual keyboard, and the website itself — is owned by Lionel E Bryant, trading as Idea2Launch. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the course for the students covered by your purchase. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, share student codes between households, reverse engineer the service, or circumvent its limits (including the one-device rule).
Work a student produces using the course (typed passages, scores, signed certificates) belongs to that student's family. The seller may store and display it within the course solely to provide the service.
6. Service level
The course is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance may temporarily limit access.
7. Payment, orders, and taxes
Purchases are one-time payments — there is no subscription. Your order process, payment collection, billing, taxes, and refunds are conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com.
For the mechanics of payment, billing, taxes, cancellation, and refunds, see Paddle's Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
8. Merchant of Record disclosure
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate a student's or a parent's access to the course if: the terms are materially breached; payment is not completed where payment is due; the account poses a security or fraud risk; or policies are repeatedly or seriously violated. If access ends, student records may be exported on request for a reasonable period before deletion.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties — including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose — are disclaimed. Completion of the course documents progress for a home instruction program of study; it is not, by itself, a legal fulfillment of a parent's obligations under Virginia law (see the notice at the bottom of this page).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the seller is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill. The seller's aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow that limit.
You agree to cover claims against the seller that arise from your (or your student's) unlawful use, your submitted content, or a violation of these terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Virginia. You may not assign your rights under these terms without consent; the seller may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
Performance is excused during events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date, and continued use of the course after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Learning Basic Keyboarding is aligned to the Virginia CTE keyboarding competencies. Completing this course does not replace a parent's legal responsibilities under Virginia Code § 22.1-254.1: the parent remains responsible for filing the annual notice of intent with the local school division by August 15 and for providing evidence of academic progress by August 1. This course is not reviewed, approved, or endorsed by the Virginia Department of Education.
