Children's information
The course is for students in grades 6-8, most of whom are under 13. A student account is created only through a parent or guardian: the parent registers (or provides the family code the student uses), and the parent can view the child's records and request changes or deletion at any time. We collect only the information needed to run the course and produce its records.
Legal bases
We process most information to perform our contract with you (providing the course, records, and certificate). Security and fraud-prevention uses rest on our legitimate interests in running a safe service. Where we ask for optional feedback, that rests on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share information with
- Service providers that host the website and its database, deliver the site, and support email delivery — processing only on our instructions.
- Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for our orders. Paddle handles the sale, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing, and shares purchase records back to us.
- Professional advisers (legal or accounting) where needed.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Where data is stored
Information is stored in the United States by our hosting provider. Where information crosses borders, safeguards such as standard contractual clauses apply.
How long we keep it
Student records are kept while your purchase is active and for as long as needed for the course and its records. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized. If you request deletion, we remove account and student data except what we must keep for tax, legal, or security purposes.
Your rights
You (and, for a child's data, the parent or guardian) can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of personal information; you can object to certain processing or withdraw consent. Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act you can also confirm whether we process your data and appeal a decision we make on such a request. Parents may exercise these rights on their child's behalf.
To exercise a right, contact us at bman0624@gmail.com. We respond within 45 days (30 days for GDPR requests where they apply). You can also complain to your state attorney general or your local supervisory authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls that let each student see only their own records, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No system is perfectly secure, but we design ours so a breach of one account does not expose another's data.
Cookies
The course uses only essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your session. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block storage in your browser settings; doing so signs you out.
Changes
If this notice changes materially, we'll post the new version here with an updated date and, for material changes affecting children's data, notify parents by email.
